5 things that help me stop overthinking

Overthinking isn't just worrying about the future or thinking back on the past. It's not just feeling anxious, which is an emotion we feel often. Overthinking is when you're stuck in your head, and you lose touch with reality because of it.

Thinking can be useful if you're trying to solve a problem or come up with an idea for how to do something better. But when overthinking gets in the way of your life, it becomes unhelpful.

I've struggled with overthinking in the past and still do from time to time. It's hard to stop! But here are some things that have helped me:


Yoga is a great way to relax and calm your mind. It's also good for improving your flexibility and strength, which can help reduce tension in your body.

Yoga can be a great source of self-esteem as well. Because yoga requires you to be focused on your own body, it encourages you to treat yourself with respect and love - something that can definitely make an impact on how you see yourself!

In addition to all of these benefits, practicing yoga regularly has been shown to increase positive emotions such as joy, contentment, and peacefulness.

This is because yoga involves focusing on the body without judgment or criticism; instead of telling yourself what you should or shouldn't do with your body (which makes people feel bad about themselves), yoga teaches us mindfulness: being present with ourselves in each moment without judging our actions or feelings at all.



Meditation helps me to relax, focus on the present, and feel more positive about myself. Here are some benefits of meditation:

  • It helps us to be more relaxed and calm by focusing our attention on a single object or thought for an extended period of time. This could be your breath, a mantra, or a visualization technique. This will help you to reduce stress and anxiety so that you can make better decisions in your life without having any negative thoughts getting in the way.
  • Meditation also increases self-awareness which allows us to notice how negative thoughts affect our bodies and emotions as well as prevent future negative thoughts from occurring again in the future by remembering what has happened before so there won't be any surprises later down the road when something similar happens again.
  • When we meditate regularly we gain better control over our minds allowing us not only to become aware of these types of thoughts but also to understand why they occur. So instead of becoming angry at ourselves whenever we have them, we can simply acknowledge them without feeling guilty about having such ideas come into existence inside our head space in the first place! The best part about this method isn't just because it allows us see clearly where these ideas came from - it's actually because these methods allow us take action towards improving ourselves overall.

So how do you find an exercise routine that works for you? Start small: try walking 10 minutes each morning before work or doing some pushups in front of the TV after dinner. Either way, the most important thing is to recognize when your thoughts are hurting you and do something about it.
